Welcome To Emerald Mystique!
About Emerald Mystique
The 2008-2009 Season will prove to be the greatest yet! The Emerald Mystique Synchro Teams in Kirkland, WA are excited to be entering their fourth season and we are continuing to build our Open Adult team and Youth Synchro teams. We have expanded the Emerald Mystique synchro program to Renton, WA at the Castle Ice Arena. We look forward to building additional youth and adult competitive teams for the Pacific Coast section in the coming months.
In 2005, the Kingsgate Skating Club offered its first Spring/Summer synchro skills class. There were 15 participants ranging in age from 5 years up through Adult. That fall, we had 6 strong Adult skaters who were interested in continuing through a Synchronized Skating Program. Although the group didn't have enough skaters to be recognized as a competitive synchro team, they enjoyed skating together anyway. The 6 adults skated to music from "Dr. Zhivago" and performed at the Winter Ice Show.
In their second season, the Adults were able to flourish and had 10 active skaters. They skated to a Johnny Cash medley of "Daddy Sang Bass", "Ghost Riders In the Sky", and "Folsom Prison Blues." They competed at their first competition, the 2007 Pacific Coast Championships, and dazzled their way to a gold medal in Chicago.
2007 - 2008 proved to be yet another growth year. With changes to the skating roster and some injuries, the Adult team was down to 5 skaters. But they continued those early morning practices, skating to a Space Theme. Music from "2001: Space Odyssey" and Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon" was a beautiful montage they again performed at Winter Solstice. The Emerald Mystique Open Adult Team is hoping to continue what they began, building a strong and full team, and we look forward to having other teams to compete against next year!
The youth program is still in a state of growth, hoping to create their first full team in the 2008 - 2009 season both in Kirkland and Renton. Currently there are 6 skaters performing to music from "Robots." In this team's first year they performed at Winter Solstice in Kirkland and the Holiday Gala in Renton. Won't you come and join?
What's Coming For 2008?
As we start to choreograph the program, our final season will be outlined.
Will we compete in Canada? Will we participate in Coast again, for which the location has yet to be named?
Stay tuned to find out!
